Fusible Paper
Working with fusible web?

I would like to know if anyone can give me some instructions on how to use fusible web on a pre-cut applique. I have some hearts that are pre-cut and can't figure out how to put them on some material with the web between them without getting the sticky stuff on the iron. I tried using a piece of waxed paper between the material and the iron and it works, but there has to be an easier way. I have used fusible web before without pre-cut pieces and it works fine. I even tried tracing the piece on a piece of web, but that would take awhile to do all of them. Any suggestions?

Generally the web is attached to the fabric before shapes are cutout, but as you said you could just cut out a bunch of them now and adhere to your fabric hearts (cut out a bunch at one time by folding the web multiple times, pinning to hold them together evenly, marking the shape on the top layer, then cut).

Webbing won't stick to silicone sheets or sheets used for stickers I think too, if you could figure out some way to use that info.

If you're using them as appliques, you could also buy the temporary adhesives that come in spray cans, or turn under the edges then apply a bit of glue stick just there to hold them on while you machine or hand stitch around. There are also fabric glues if you don't want to stitch around.

HTH,

Diane B.
