Tile Cleaning San Jose....best left to a pro?
As a professional tile and grout cleaner, I've seen many times homeowners doing this painful job themselves. I've even walked them through the steps a few times when asked. Heck, times are tough, it's understandable when someone's trying to save their money but unfortunately this may be an area that's best left for a reputable tile cleaning company.
While tile cleaning is not rocket science, seldom does the ordinary homeowner have the time, training, patience and tools to do this gruelling job right. Scrubbing grout lines on your hands and knees is not exactly what most are eager to do.

Having the right cleaner on hand and scrubbing the grout lines is just one part of the process. It is essential to leave the tile and grout residue free. Most professionals use a type of self contained pressure washer to leave their grout and tile cleaning as residue free as possible. Leaving the tile and grout residue free is essential for a few reasons. First, like carpet cleaning, leaving a residue free surface keeps the tile and grout clean longer. A negative residue will attract dirt and have the tile dirty in no time. Another reason is that grout sealers will not adhere to the grout and tile as well as if there is no residue before applying the product.
The self contained pressure washer also has the additional benefit of taking more dirt out of the tile and grout. On tiles like travertine that has natural holes, this machine is also essential because it extracts the dirt that are in the holes of the travertine tile. A simple mop and bucket for tile cleaning will simply not do this.
When cleaning tile that is man made such as ceramic or porcelain, proper tile cleaning is done with two types of tile cleaners. An alkaline cleaner is usually used first to loosen oily dirt. After scrubbing the tile and grout the Turbo cleaner is used. Next the same process is used, but this time with an acidic tile cleaning solution. Specialty acidic tile cleaners will slightly etch the grout. This step can make a significant difference in the final results. Of course this is followed up with a Turbo rinse. Ask your tile cleaner how many steps they use to clean tile that is man made. Please, if you are attempting to clean tile on your own, do not use any acids for cleaning natural stone such as marble, travertine, limestone or others.
