stripping pink pickled cabinets?
I am trying to refinish them darker, but they seem to have a kind of wispy white paint down in the grain which shows when I re-stain them. Any suggestions to get this out and any experiences positive or negative out there?
It sounds as if the cabinets were also distressed meaning they may have nicks or dings that look natural.
If this is the case you may have to do a light sanding. Try liquid sander first. It is relatively easy to use but be sure to follow the manufacturers directions. If this does not work you will have to do a light sanding in the direction of the grain of the wood then stain.
